Globally, the concept of “sustainable development” has been debated and promoted for more than four decades. The flagship initiative is the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), introduced in 2015. Almost 200 countries, including Malaysia, have agreed to take action to achieve the 17 SDGs by 2030.
